Cupertino has been touted as one of the best places to live in the San Francisco Bay area. The city is known for being the center of innovation in Silicon Valley and is home to the high tech giant Apple Inc. as well as the founding cities of Silicon Valley boasting excellent schools and high quality of life.

Cupertino Schools

Cupertino is part of the Bertino Union School District as well as the Fremont Union High School District. There are 19 elementary schools, five middle schools, and four high schools, and the district is known for high achieving primary and secondary education opportunities. The Murdock Portal Elementary and Faria elementary are tied for the highest score for elementary public schools in the entire state and the John F. Kennedy middle school has been rated as the best middle school in California. The Lawson middle school is the third-best in the state.

Cupertino is also home to De Anza College, one of the two community colleges within the area. There are several weekend schools such as the San Francisco Japanese School and Harker private school. The De Anza College is known for its large Flint Center Theater, the primary venue for performing arts in West Valley.

Things to do

Cupertino is one of the many cities claiming to be the heart of Silicon Valley. There are multiple parks, high-tech industries,  and major employers such as Apple, Seagate Technology, Cupertino Union School District, SugarCRM and Target.

Voted one of the “happiest suburbs in the United States” Cupertino has a wide selection of restaurants, grocery stores, markets, shopping, bars, and nightlife. Many neighborhoods have neighborhood block parties, community services, and the city has a vibrant Parks and Recreation Department. There’s something going on every single month of the year whether it’s the annual spelling bee each January, Fit Fast in March, the Winter Ball each February, the Cherry Blossom Festival in April, summer concert series in June, July, and August, Shakespeare in the Park, the Fall Festival, the harvest Festival, Heroes Run, and of course, all the festivities of the holidays with tree lighting, breakfast with Santa, and the ornament and wreath party.
